We had a lovely family meal and highly recommend. Good setting, well priced and tasty food ( loved the apple and cinnamon tart with custard!). We were served by a very friendly and helpful waitress. We will definitely go back again.

Was looking forward to a few days away with my wife and after a lengthy drive was hoping to have something to eat and a have a wander round that's where it ends. so where do we start on arrival was give the usual welcome at reception headed to our room on entering there was a slight smell off sweaty bed sheets gets worse towel in bathroom was dirty someone dried there hands on it the bath was needing cleaned room was thick with dust as looks it has not been cleaned in a long time reported this was given an other room not much better decided we were not staying and left all within 30min off arriving. the worst hotel ever been in.

Located in the small town of Inverurie, this is a lovely hotel with such friendly staff and really nice evening meals, I really recommend the steak pie, best beef in a long time. Easy to find just off the A96.

Stayed here for a nearby wedding. Lovely, friendly, accommodating staff made us feel very welcome. Comfortable room.

Stayed every year 2014>2020 with previous owners was really good. However a 6 day stay recently was not up to previous standards. Disappointed with room cleanliness & dated decoration. Bed was uncomfortable also bathroom was not the cleanest. Staff were good and helpful Sam & Gemma in particular. Cost was pricey for standard of facility, we would advise a good make over but that will effect profit I suppose. Don't think we will use next year.

Great little hotel. Room was as described and had plenty of space and storage for clothes. The hotel was the closest to town and Barra castle where we were attending a wedding. The lounge was good and open till late serving drinks. Diane was particularly help and very kind offering to help with places to eat and also printing a few last minute bits for us.

The hotel does have a ‘care home’ feel about it. It is a little dated and needs TLC in some areas, our rooms were clean.
It is in a convenient area.
Staff were very pleasant.
Breakfast very limited to either full Scottish or sugary cereals.
Fresh fruit, some wholesome cereals and better quality bread would be an improvement.

Been for a meal twice this year and been disappointed both times. Steak was overcooked both times and not even by a small amount. Asked for medium/rare and it was completely well done. A man on the table next to me had exactly the same issue. Underwhelming sides with it also. 1 star is for the waitress being pleasant and 2nd star is for my wife enjoying her soup, but we won't be going again

We had an evening meal. The waitress was friendly and helpful but the food was disappointing. Not the "culinary experience" we were expecting. I had the homemade pie: the pastry was chewy and the vegetables tasted like tinned. The pudding was small: a mediocre chocolate brownie served with a scoop of ice cream. The meagreness of the portion was accentuated by the large plate on which it was served! We will not be visiting the Strathburn again.

What a well run and friendly value hotel.
Stayed for one night on business. Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming. Sam, the young chef, makes great food and I'd love the recipe for the Golden Pea Soup..!!
For the price, I don't think you can do better.

Reasonably priced hotel in Inverurie. Clean, warm, everything in good working order. Room decor was a bit dated but in good condition. Excellent breakfast. Staff were competent and effective without being overly friendly.

We had to stop at Inerurie on our way home from Berwick on wednesday due to the storms and what a wondefull experience it was. There were only 3 staff working , but wow they done an excelent job. The gentleman manning the reception and also helping to serve drinks and meals was so polite and helpfull. The girl waiting on tables was run off her feet but remained calm and organised not to mention being so polite as well. Both of them were amazing. Although we dident see the chef the food he produced was some of the best my wife and i have ever had at a hotel. All three of them must be highly valued by the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
